Charities and Fund Raising events

Vernon Legion Branch 25 has contributed more than $60,000 to our community during 2018, through funds raised by 2017 Poppy Campaign and weekly Meat Draw proceeds.

Community volunteers

Volunteerism is one of The Royal Canadian Legion’s core activities. At its heart, the Legion is a grassroots organization that has its greatest impact through volunteer, community-based activities. Legionnaires comprise one of the largest volunteer bases in the country, committing millions of volunteer hours each year.

Through its local Branches and members, the Legion raises funds and supports essential services for those in need, and responds to the unique needs of their community.

Advocating for change

Canada’s Veterans served to protect the very rights and freedoms we enjoy today; we owe them our commitment to ensure they receive the benefits they need and deserve. The Royal Canadian Legion firmly believes this country has a solemn obligation owed to our military members.

The Legion advocates for the care, benefits and wellbeing of all Veterans and their families. Nationally, the Legion is actively advocating for a list of measures that, if adopted by Canada’s Government, will have a positive impact on our Veterans and their families.

Some of our key areas of advocacy include Veterans Well-being Act, Lifelong financial security, Access to benefits, Transition to civilian life, Mental Health, Families, Research and treatment, Homeless Veterans, Seniors, and Death benefits.
